I am seeing a few memory leak errors / warnings during tomcat start up. The warnings or error messages are one of the following -

  1. The web application created a thread local.... thread local forcibly removed.
  2. The web application seems to have started a thread named .....

Because of these errors, the application does not load. How do we resolve this?

Here are some steps to debug this -

Shutdown the application.

  1. Make sure that you have the correct JDBC driver file ( under tomcat/webapps/Profiler/WEB-INF/lib) corresponding to the version of MySQL server installed.
  2. Move this JDBC driver file from Profiler/WEB-INF/lib/ folder to tomcat/lib/ folder as sometimes Tomcat's builtin DBCP does not deregister drivers properly on close.
  3. Make sure that the Securonix_Home files are in sync with the version of Profiler.war in place.

Restart the application.
